


In theory, the XG Mobile + the Flow's CPU should have a higher combined TDP than the SCAR 18 but they'd not be as tightly integrated. I know ROG's marketing says their EGPU doesn't have bottlenecks but I'd like to hear from the community. I'd be much happier with the X13's form factor but if it costs me FPS then I'd rather just go with the SCAR 18. I'm on the fence about whether to pull the trigger on the Strix SCAR 18 or wait for the new Flow X13 with the 4080 XG Mobile.

I value portability and I've been happy using external graphics cards before, but they've historically had a performance penalty. The new Strix SCAR 18 has a high TDP and allows the 4080 to stretch its legs in ways a smaller form factor couldn't manage. As the laptop community has come to know, fast parts != fast games.
